For sale is 56 piece complete boxed set of the celebrated JEZZINE ware hand-crafted flatware by S & A Haddad of Lebanon. The set is in the NIGHTINGALE Pattern, with inlaid and decorated black horn handles carved into birds. The knife blades are stainless, and the other metal pieces are silver. Box one contains 6 9 3/4" table knives, 6 8 3/4" table forks, 6 8 3/4" table spoons and 1 5 1/2" bottle opener. Box two contains 12 8 1/4" dessert knives, 12 6 3/4" dessert forks, 12 6 1/2" teaspoons and a 10 3/8" dessert server. The pieces bear a variety of marks, as. The set comes in its original black boxes with fitted red interiors. Accompanying the lot are two care instruction sheets and a page from a 1958 National Geographic showing Jezzine ware being produced. Condition on the set is quite good. Some pieces were used, but not very much. The boxes have deteriorated a bit over time, with some loose fittings and a broken clasp on the smaller box. The handles are in nice shape for their age.
