Collection of 21 Antebellum American Story Newspapers Welcome to my eBay auction! Today's lot consists of the following original historic newspapers: Group of Story Newspapers . A uniquely Aerican taste in popular literature began to develop in the 1850s. Prior to this time the public devoured the latest English authors' works as they became available. Pioneering editors began to offer the output of homegrown authors, and a new genre was born. The Fifties were a very nostalgic decade, so t is much historical romance to be found in these isues, as well as more sensational tales of crime and other misbehaviors.
