compiled by unknown owner and containing 28 military subjects, most in uniform having various Massachusetts back marks, including 11 Generals, all but four of the cartes are identified in pencil and ink. Eight additional cdvs are of civilians with 4 identified and 4 not. During the Civil War Massachusetts cameramen seemed to have produced a consistently high level of quality photography and this album is no exception containing a selection of smart portraits of company grade officers representing an array of Bay State regiments as well as several rarer, possibly unpublished views of known generals, specifically Caleb Sibley and Erasmus Keyes as colonel. The album lacks an index page although most of the subjects are identified in period pencil with a few signed in ink.
