comes a wonderful oil & leaf gold on wood ICON, dating back to Russia in the 19th century. This superb religious artwork shows the depiction of the dormition of the mother of God. This precious icon is of RUSSIAN origin and dates back to the 19th century. SPECIFICATIONS:

This masterly painted Russian icon shows the depiction of the dormition of the Virgin Mother Mary. The mother of God is lying on a bed and she is surrounded by the apostles. Framed by two angels we see Jesus who is holding the little soul of Mary on her first day in heaven. This icon by presenting the separation of the body and soul implies the death of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The hand painting is of superior quality and the precious appearance is rounded of by the use of leaf gold.
