FINE VICTORIAN LADIES PIANO HINGE SECRETARY BUREAU DESK Circa: 1890 Dimensions: 33" wide x 18" deep x 33" high Stock Number: HS43-209 Approximate Weight: 45 lbs. This ELEGANTLY MADE SECRETARY was made in America circa 1890. We purchased it in Savannah, Georgia. The Secretary is made of Walnut. It has a rich, golden, Medium Walnut Patina. This is an American Victorian Ladies Secretary. It is in very good condition. The piece is raised upon high, elegant Baluster Turned Legs with Bobbin Turned Embellishments. It has a stately, Rectangular Form with Pilasters carved at each side of the Piano Hinge Top. The Top is raised to reveal an incredibly well fitted interior with Five Pigeon Holes. The Central Pigeon Hole has an Arcaded Top. The Work Surface is drawn forward and expands sizable. This is an incredibly lovely piece of Victorian Americana. The detailed craftsmanship is beautifully executed. This is a fabulously collectible American Secretary. It would be a wonderful gift to the lady in your life.
