CIRCA 1860. Outstanding quality longcase clock with fine detail and carved pediment. 12inch silver dial signed W. C. Shaw, Glasgow, with Roman numerals and seconds dial. 8-day movement with maintaining power and dead beat escapement, in full working order, with original brass weights and matching brass pendulum on steel rod. Walnut veneered case with glazed front and side panels over a bombe base standing on scrolled bracket feet; drumhead hood with fine detailed carved pediment and cast brass bezel. Maker: William Clark Shaw, Glasgow recorded as working 1845-1860 as a silversmith & jeweller, clock & watchmaker and chronometer maker. Over the years I have had a number of this makers clocks and they are always in these high quality cases with movements of the highest standard. Dimensions: 83.5 inches / 212cm high. 22 inches / 56cm deep. 12 inches / 31cm wide. Price: $7850 / £4750 GBP. Everything about this clock is original; nothing has been replaced or altered. The movement is original to the dial and the dial and works to the case. No wheels have been replaced and it has had no major work done on it, only routine cleaning. The clock is here ticking away and keeping good time. Delivery within the UK is normally about £120 depending on your location. Shipment to the US is approx. $600-$700 this includes customs and brokerage charges. It will be crated and packed by a professional antique shipping company and the clock will be delivered to your door via airfreight, once crated it takes 2-3 days, 7-14 days from purchase should see it at your door. Insurance is available at a cost of 2% of the value.
