Magnificent antique art glass oil lamp with hand-painted floral sprays and sepia pastoral transfer scene dating to the last quarter of the 19th century.Made of translucent white Bristol type glass with lovely painted mint green accents.Superb Victorian frosted open bowl shade with etched clear florals,acanthus swags and ribbons.Large. clear glass chimney and large ribbed wick wheel marked Phoenix.Stands an impressive 20 1/2 inches to the top of the chimney.The lamp has a robust and shapely figure that is beautifully complimented with the opaque quality of the Bristol glass and delicacy of the painted floral sprays in rust and green.The glass oil tank is removable from the hollow urn base.The overall look of this fine lamp is dignified and impressive,and oh so very Victorian in it`s wonderful style.In excellent original condition,with minimal paint loss and only minor roughness to the rim of the suerb blown shade.A fine piece of art glass from the Victorian era and an impressive oil lamp of commanding beauty and size.Period 1870-1880.
