Exquisite Edwardian period design, English silver photograph frame. The silver is of the finest quality: The Hallmarks are: v Leopards Head Mark - London Assay Office v Rare Britannia Mark - Only For Finest Silver Articles v 999 Numerical Mark – Highest Quality Silver: 99.9% Pure v Makers Mark - PVF v Date Letter Mark The silver is finely embossed, with a raised border and symetrical finials on a lightly hammered background. The frame has a solid mahogany veneer wooden back and pointed strut enabling portrait or landscape photographs to be displayed, complete with a genuine moire watered silk lining. The purest quality unalloyed silver displays a depth of colour not found on lower grade silver items. Unlike so many on ebay now, this silver frame is not mass-produced but beautifully hand-made, using the finest materials, by one of the best english silver frame makers PVF. Brand new in a strong card box, it has never been used so no dings, dents or scratches, a beautiful quality item.
