Lovely Edwardian period design, English silver photograph frame. The silver is of the finest quality: The Hallmarks are: v Leopards Head Mark - London Assay offic e v Rare Britannia Mark - Only For Finest Silver Articles v 999 Numerical Mark – Highest Quality Silver: 99.9% Pure v Makers Mark - PVF v Date Letter Mark The silver is embossed in an understated style typical of the era with minimal decoration to the edge of the borders only. The frame has a polished wooden back and pointed strut enabling portrait or landscape photographs to be displayed, complete with a genuine moire watered silk lining. The purest quality unalloyed silver displays a depth of colour not found on lower grade silver items. Unlike so many now on ebay, this silver frame is not mass-produced abroad but beautifully hand-made, using the finest materials, by one of the best english silver frame makers: PVF.
