Beautiful Piece of Fioriware Soap Dish/Holder! Fioriware is no longer in production. If you are familier with the pottery, you know what high quality it is. This is a scalloped edge soap dish. It is stamped fioriware pottery on the bottom. It's approximately 5 3/4 inches by 4 3/4 inches. It really is beautiful. F ioriware is handcrafted by artisans in a studio environment. The methods used to fashion clay into colorful and useful tabletop wares are chosen for their integrity of workmanship and intrinsic beauty rather than productivity. In a manner of speaking, the studio is a living museum employing traditional 19th Century skills. Each artisan contributes their skilled hand and eye to weave together beautiful designs and functional shapes with quality craftsmanship. Forming Fioriware Art Pottery requires a labor intensive process of clay making, forming, finishing, bisque-firing, prepping, waxing, glazing, decorating, masking, wiping, stamping, glaze-firing, buffing and final inspection. In all, it takes 24 steps to create each piece of pottery. The process of hand making ceramic products creates subtle variations, which add character and charm. All of my items come from a pet and smoke free home. Thanks for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions.
