Washington ,1823, 108pp., 51pp. Appendix. 8vo. 1st edition. Many important Acts & treaties. Indexed at end. Subjects include constructing ships to combat piracy, 2 other Acts punishing piracy, reference to trade in Indian country lying north & west of Lake Michigan in Michigan Territory, reference to Detroit, Green Bay, Prairie du Chien, Lake St. Clair, reference to Lower Rapids of the Miami of Lake Erie & the Western Reserve, 10pp. of two Acts to establish the Territorial Government of Florida just ceded from Spain ( w/ a section on slaves) & also ascertaining claims & titles to land in East Florida & West Florida, Acts on navigation, appropriations for the army & navy, American Revolution veterans, building of participating roads & bridges between many places, improvement of navy yards, ordinance stores, much more. Appendix prints in full a treaty with Great Britain concerning particular articles in the Treaty of Ghent ending the War of 1812, with sections on the Russian empire, & 1822 letters from the Czar in St. Petersburg, also a Treaty of Navigation & Commerce between the U.S. & France dealing with French & U.S. trading vessels also 4pp. printing of the decision of the Commissioners in 1822 on the 6th Article of Treaty of Ghent respecting border between U.S. & British Canada (many places mentioned, some reference to Indian villages), also printing of 2 Indian treaties of 1823 signed in type by many Indians & by James Monroe as President & John Quincy Adams as Secretary of State this is nice and still in its original green wrapper, untrimmed as issued. Foxing and spotting occasionally but generally overall in good condition. Spine bind is separated but holding and edges of overall piece are tattered. Many of the pages remain uncut and were obviously not read. T is no reserve but similar copies are selling at $200+!!! Good luck bidding on this Americana piece!!!
