This listing is for a first edition, second printing of Steel Construction dated March, 1928. This classic reference was published by the American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc., Lee H. Miller, Chief Engineer. The book is in very good condition for its age and it displays beautifully despite a few "warts". The book is bound in a flexible black leather-like binding. 5-3/8" x 8-1/8", 392 pp.The cover is clean and nicely colored. The raised print on the cover and spine retain most of their gilding. There is rubbing along the spine and significant shelf wear at the head and tail. The binding is tight with no missing or loose pages. The paper is slightly aged but the pages are crisp and generally very clean except as noted here. No tears, no stains, no foxing. The original owner's name is written in ink on the title page and there are a couple of calculations on one of the blank "Notes & Diagrams" pages that were provided at the back of the book. The edges of the pages have darkened with age and are slightly soiled. I try to be as careful as possible when describing my items so that the buyer will not be disappointed but, despite its flaws, I must say that is still a wonderful example of this rare title.
