Tule Canvasback Decoy print w/ stamp by Larry Hayden. It is a 1979 First Nevada Duck Stamp Print numbered 1697 out of a series of 1990, signed by the artist and still in the original presentation folder. Both print and stamp are in mint condition. The subject of the print is the Northern Paiute decoy, the first known American decoy, which was discovered in a cave by archaeologists from the Heye Foundation of the Museum of the American Indian in New York City in 1924. Eleven of these decoys were found in unusually good condition because of the dry climate. It seemed fitting that Larry Hayden, one of the world's foremost decoy carvers, would be chosen as the artist to do this beautiful print. He is nationally renowned and has won many awards. A beautiful addition to your collection at an excellent price!
