This is an original ticket stub to very first scheduled night game in Wrigley Field--home of the Chicago Cubs. They played the Philadelphia Phillies. We researched the item and found that the game was called in the fourth inning due to rain. Rick Sutcliffe started the game for the Cubs and gave up a homerun to Phil Bradley of the Phillies. Ryne Sandberg came back with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first. The Cubs were leading 3-1 when the game was called..........The Mets came to town the following day and bowed to the Cubs 6-4 in what was declared to be the first official night game at Wrigley. The color of the ticket to this game was red (not blue as the one shown in this listing).Size of ticket is 1 3/8 x 3 5/8"-----shows typical wear. We are showing both sides of ticket so you can get a good idea of condition etc. Background of Ticket----we just found this at an antique mall in Clarksville, Mo which is probably maybe 300 miles from Chicago. We are also listing another ticket which was in the same lot--it is a 1984 National League Championship Series ticket stub in which the Cubs vs. Western Division--Game 1. The previous owner no doubt was one of those famous "die-hard" Cubs fans.
