Evermann) Published by Government Printing Office, 1900 49 high quality chromolithographs of ocean creatures which "accurately represent the brilliant coloration of some of the fishes of this interesting region". 17 by C.B. Hudson. Charles Bradford Hudson is an artist listed in Ray Davenport's "Art Reference and Price Guide". Hudson lived from 1865-1939. The remaining 32 colored lithographs are by A. H. Baldwin. The colored lithographs are printed by Julius Bien and Co. N.Y. Three large fold-out maps bound in at back. Numerous engravings. 117 figures. Scholarly and scientific report with family, genus and species classifications - 75 family, 165 genus and 291 species descriptions. This is a report on the investigation of the waters about Porto Rico, specifically its fishery resources and aquatic fauna, shortly after its acquisition by the United States.
