up for auction is a rare fisher fmr-1 fm stereo broadcast monitor tube tuner , I tested it and could only get static no radio stations found, all the tubes light up so sold for parts or repair , see pics, some imperfections in chassis such as corrosion or surface rust , missing one knob and the dial lights do not light up. sold as is, any questions please ask thanks , Update on the fisher broadcast monitor tuner. I found a bad nuvisor in the tuning section (nuvistor is the 6cw4 microtube near tuning capacitor) I replaced it with a spare I had. I got the tuner working doing this now I get alot of stations but fm stereo multiplex is not working properly, mono sounds good but the rca connectors to my amp have to be jiggled to get good connection with my plugs right channed drops out so I jiggle the rca wires . the vu meter is working the signal meter works but gets maxed out on most stations . The tuning string sometimes slips. so I turned the tuning gang to help it along. This belonged to wor fm in nyc which was on 98.7 at the time, It now receives 98.7fm on the xtal setting which is 98.7 kiss fm in new york city. the dial lights and the meter lights do not light up also none of the 3 lights are working where the jews belong which are missing, Hope this helps you make an informed decision to restore this tuner to its former glory, read more
