"Among the sundry ideas for tampering with the island whose name is synonymous with the immigrant experience, several have come from noted architects. Based on some sketches made by Frank Lloyd Wright shortly before his death, the Taliesin group proposed a semicircular megacomplex of hotel and apartment towers called Key Project, which looked like an early attempt at a NASA space station in New York harbor." from Ellis Island, The Sacrilege of a Shrine by Carter B. Horsley (/ellis.htm)Offered are:#1) Eight 8 x 10 color transparencies of presentation drawings and plans from the original drawings - rendering; plan at ground level, cross section, typical floor of apartment tower and typical floor of hotel tower, layout of rooms per floor half-plan at level #100 and #70, plan of second level and plan of towers; #2) Eight 8 x 10 color prints from the transparencies made by Gamma Imaging, Chicago; #3) Tape recording of Alex Dreier about the Key Project. Dreier was Chicago's "Man on the go", top TV anchor at Chicago's ABC affiliate WBKB-TV. (Dreier covered Berlin for UP - until he was expelled by the Gestapo -and joined NBC in 1941).
