This flat sheet-metal standing horse is a very early and rare vane that was offered by Reyburn Hunter Company . The horse is attached to an F-10 arrow with 2 wires soldered to the front and rear legs. The twisted wire end is representative of the very early weathervanes which were built approximately 100 years ago. The arrow is 22.5 "long and the horse is 11 l/2" long and 10" high. The solder that holds the two wires to the horse is all intact except it appears that front wire may have been glued at some point in time. Look at the picture taken outdoors facing left and you can hopefully you can see the two wires that the horse is attached to. Although not apparent, the front wire has not been glued for the last l/2" from the top. The horse is firmly attached to the arrow. The horse appears to be copper since you can see some copper showing through the paint in sporadic locations. The copper makes this horse even more RARE and COLLECTIBLE. The paint on the horse and arrow is original and excellent representing the age of this piece. T does not appear to be damage, defects or bullet holes/BB gun impressions on this horse. It is extremely difficult to find an ALL ORIGINAL, flat sheet-metal horse intact and attached to an arrow especially with the original paint. The arrow has a 3/4" diameter hole which does not show wear or deterioration read more
