Beautiful Restored Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps & Buckles, Working Lock & Key, and Two Trays is an absolutely beautiful ornate refinished flat top steamer trunk in hunter green color. This trunk should date back to about 1900 or so. Yes, we have re-detailed the entire piece, some in gold leaf, and the rest brush painted by hand in hunter green and black. The edge or side banding is the original factory color and it does have the pinstriping. This beautiful trunk comes with the original signed working lock with key. It is signed, "Corbin Cabinet Lock Co New Britain Conn U.S.A." In addition to the nice lock, it has a nice pair of Amish made black leather straps with roller buckles run full length in the same location w the original ones once did. The leather strap hold downs or keepers are the factory original ones in which these straps have been run through. This is a fairly large true flat top with no arch, and are the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 36 1/2 inches, from floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. When packaged, this trunk will fall into UPS's 'Oversize 3' category(OS3) and they have a surcharge on this size package. For this trunk to be sent within Pennsylvania, it would cost over $120.00 and to California around $150.00. To make things a little more affordable, we will ship this trunk through UPS for $89.00 to any of the lower 48 states. This excludes Alaska and Hawaii. We are absorbing some of the shipping costs so hopefully you will bid on this trunk and become one of our future customers. So, the fixed shipping is $89.00. You can use the UPS shipping calculator which is somewhat complicated to see the actual cost from this zip code of 16652 to your zip code. are the packaged trunk dimensions and weight: 41x27x24, weight is 74 pounds. If you live nearby, you could come pick it up as long as it's within a reasonable amount of time. This trunk is nice and sturdy and could serve as a tv stand or stereo stand. If not used for that manner, possibly you could use this trunk as a coffee table or a blanket chest within a bedroom or anyw within your home w storage space is needed. We have replaced the worn out handles with nice Amish made black leather stitched straps. The outer slat boards appear to be oak or ash and have been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. T is a small stress crack on one of the slat boards at the top. Just thought we would mention it so t won't be any surprises. A unique feature on this trunk is that it comes with two interior trays. One rests on top of the other. Look at the close up picture showing these trays. The interior wood and trays have had two coats of clearcoat applied to preserve the wood. The interior is clean and a nice trunk maker's style picture has been fastened to the underside of the top portraying a Victorian girl holding her pet cat. The exterior bottom of this trunk is in good condition and has the metal casters in place on the bottom. We have finished the bottom to make the trunk overall clean.
