FLEETWOOD MAC: "The Pious Bird Of Good Omen" UK LP VERY FIRST PRESSING, 30th AUGUST 1969. ON THE LATE 1960's, PALE BLUE TEXTURED HORIZON LABEL: S7 - 63215. MAITRIX: S7 - 63215 A - 1 / S7 - 63215 B - 1 (The Very First Pressing Made.) ORIGINAL 1969 SOFT PAPER INNER SLEEVE, IN UNUSED MINT- CONDITION. FIRST ISSUE LAMINATED FRONT COVER, ALTHOUGH A STEREO ONLY ALBUM, CBS/BLUE HORIZON WERE STILL ACCUSTOMED TO PRINTING MONO ONLY COVERS DURING THE 1960's. MOST HAD 'STEREO' STICKERS ADDED ON THE BACK LIKE THIS COVER, LOCATED ON THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE BACK. ALL THESE FIRST ISSUE COVERS ONLY WERE GIVEN A MONO CATALOGUE NUMBER, BIZZARE? No, not at all, Mono was still reigning supreme in June - July 1969 when this album was being prepared for release, instead of the correct Stereo catalogue number with an 'S' prefix, 'S7 - 63215', printed on the spine and the front top right corner, next to the boxed 'Blue Hoizon' logo, is '7 - 63215', a mono only catalogue number. The ultra slim spine of the 1960's has a unique shape of the decade, pointed endings created a sloping or bowed shape to the front, the titles were often worn away due to the thinness of the spine, not here! The deluxe thick lamination is unworn/unused and protecting perfect black lettering, even more amazing is how the background is still the purest white of 1969, totally unaged. The front is also unaged with vividly bright red album titles, the deeply glossy lamanation enhances the rather strange surreal artwork, a nun is holding an albatross on a beach. The back is matt and normally severely worn with rampant ring wear, this is like new, without any fading, scuffs and definately not even a hint of ring wear. The inevitable brushing to those pointed sppine endings is all to describe, the edges, opening sides and the right side corners are pefect. Even the record's impression is remarkably gentle, with just a few of those tiny laminate edge lines that formed naturally, right from the day the record was first inserted at the pressing plant. All these first issue covers were made by the little known 'Quality Stationery Ltd. London', they disappeared from printing LP covers as fast as they had appeared, but produced a top quality first issue ! THE COVER IS IN A MINIMUM OF NEAR MINT CONDITION. THE LABELS ARE IMMACULATE WITHOUT ANY SPINDLE TRACES, THE RECORD IS LIKE BRAND NEW WITHOUT ANY MARKS AT ALL AND IN UNPLAYED / MINT CONDITION.
