Another fun one! An N-scale electric loco with a special gear for climbing steep grades, by Fleischmann. On this one, the red paintwork is great. It runs beautifully too, and looks hardly used mechanically. It of course runs on regular N-scale track, or can transition to climb steep hills with Fleischmann's special gear-rack track, item 9119. (Please see my other auctions for a sample.) It's very heavy for its size, so its special gear engages and holds the rack track very well, and according to Fleischmann can climb up to a 35% grade (about a 24-degree grade, I think? I was never a math whiz.) It runs beautifully, with a typically smooth Fleischmann mechanism, and is built to last. T's even a cool German name for this type of locomotive -- a "Zahnradbahnlok" -- leave it to the Germans to have an entirely unique word for a rack railway, a "Zahnradbahn". Fleischmann 7307, not in original box, but I have a nice one for it. Please see my other auctions for some of the rack-track, plus a twin of this locomotive in blue and white. Please see my other auctions for more wonderful items. As always, a 99-cent starting bid and no reserve. I happily ship anyw in the world.
