Here on offer is one of the finest examples of a flint fossil echinoid, I have ever collected from the Kent coastline. Its a large flint Micraster coranguinem. Size approx. 70mm by 70mm.This flint echinoid, was collected by myself along the Thanet coastline in Kent. It has been acid prepped to remove the partial calcium test, and bring out this stunning black flint internal mould fossil. It has no damage, or indeed repairs, it has a natural flint nodule attached to the back of the Micraster, which in turn provides a stand for the echinoid. An absolute stunning example, with very good and fine detail of the ambulacra, and test plates. This echinoid still has some remains of calcium attached to the test, which didn't dissolve during acid prepp. From the Cretaceous upper chalk, Santonian. Thanet coastline in Kent, Circa 80 m.y.oA very fine and Large Flint Micraster from Kent. Thanks for looking, any questions, please contact.
