Newton's "WINDY DAY" This Auction is for an original Sam Newton oil on Upson Board painting that has been called "Windy Day" by most that have seen it - That is a very fitting name for this fantastic painting although t are so many elements of this gorgeous painting that it could have been name after. The theme of a storm blown beach scene is one that many of the Highwaymen painted but Sam Newton's are some of the best! A solitary palm with waves in the background and both being blown in the wind. Birds are flying so one knows the storm is over and the sunshine is soon to come. The owner of this painting says the sunshine didn't come soon enough and the storm did him in. He had to sell this painting for the mortgage payment ... his loss will be your gain. This painting was displayed in a "smoke free" home and because of that the colors are clear and crisp. A pleasure to look at . Highwaymen collectors know that paintings by Sam Newton will steadily increase in value. This 1992 painting (dated just under Newtons signature)is in incredibly good condition.
