Up for bid is an absolutely gorgeous antique flow blue transferware platter in the Salem pattern produced in the Staffordshire area of England in the mid-19th Century. I came across this lovely platter at a Maine estate auction. It is in amazing condition for its age, and it would look wonderful displayed on any dresser or sideboard. This piece has no chips, cracks or restoration of any kind. The only flaws are some cutlery scratches and tiny discolored spots on the top surface, and some glaze crazing, scratches and discolored areas on the base (see photo). Its dimensions are 13 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches, and it is impressed on the base "James Edward Real Ironstone". Below this, is an impressed date mark which is illegible. The platter also is marked "Salem J E". I am offering this wonderful antique flow blue platter without a reserve. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Happy bidding! The successful buyer must contact me within 3 days from the end of the auction to provide name, shipping address and payment details. Payment must be received within 7 days. Buyer pays for packing and shipping. I recommend that you purchase insurance. I promise to pack it very well, but I cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to uninsured shipments. If you purchase multiple items from me, I would be happy to pack them
