Clyde Waddell who was a chief Photographer of the Houston press before entering the army. He was flown to the CBI in November of 1943 He was attached to the public relations staff of the south east Asia command, with express purpose of acting photographer for Supreme Commander Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten. Calcutta was Waddellâe(tm)s headquarters. From the day he landed he accompanied the âeoe Supremoâe throughout the Southeast Asia . Visiting battle- fronts, hospital stations & other strategic areas. He traveled on exciting assignments to the Burma front. The requests for his photographs became so numerous & response to the effort so enthusiast that he felt compelled to make this album.
