UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS VERY NICE ANTIQUE LOCK BLADE FOLDING KNIFE FROM THE FLYLOCK KNIFE CO. IN BRIDGEPORT CONN.. THIS COMPANY WAS ONLY IN BUSINESS FOR 2-3 YEARS 1916-1918 SO I WILL FEEL SAFE IN SAYING I AM SURE IT'S RARE, BUT'S IT'S SIZE IS WHAT I FIND TO BE RARE, I HAVE YET TO SEE ONE OR BEEN ABLE TO FIND ONE THIS LARGE. IT MEASURES 5 INCHES LONG CLOSED AND 8 3/4 INCHES OPEN THE SINGLE BLADE IS MARKED FLYLOCK KNIFE CO. B PORT CONN REG. PAT 3-5-18. THE KNIFE DOES HAVE SOME OXIDATION ON THE BLADE, BOLSTERS, AND BACK BONE ALSO THE LOCK DOES NOT FULLY LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN THE BLADE IS FULLY EXTENDED ?. BUT THIS KNIFE IS IN OVERALL GOOD CONDITION, BLADE IS NOT SHARPENED AWAY AND THE HANDLES ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION NO CHIPS OR CRACKS JUST NORMAL WEAR HANDLES ARE STILL TIGHT. THE BLADE IS A LITTLE LOOSE WHEN FULLY OPEN. BID WITH CONFIDENCE THIS IS A NICE COLLECTIBLE PIECE OR GREAT FOR THE MASTER KNIFE REPAIR MAN TO REFURBISH.
