I was issued this medical bag when I joined the Fleet Marine Forces in 1967 at Camp Pendleton, California. It was with me when was sent to Viet Nam in 1968. The bag is in fairly good shape for its age. The are two minor flaws as shown in a photograph.T is small tear in the top and in the strap. The bag has 4 compartments, 3 of them zip closed. The bag includes the following: 1 airway, 3 bottles of Benzalkium Choride tincture, Curad bandages, tongue depressors, 1 heavy cutter (not shown in pictures), roll of wire mesh spint material, 2 field dressing 7 1/2" x 8", 1 tourniquet 1 1/2" x 42", 2 muslin bandages, 1 bottle of insect repellent, 1 thermometer, 1 roll of tape, 1 box of 10 ammonia inhalant, 3 rolls of gauze, and 1 surgical instrument kit. The surigacal instrument kit is missing 1 set of forceps but does contain: 2 sets of forceps, scissors, probe, tweezers, scalpel, surgical blades, suture needles and silk suture.
