Old FOE Fraternal Order of Eagles Locket? Pendant? I'm not sure what it is! Age-? Measures aprox. 1/2" wide x 3/4" high On one side is; FOE in an enameled red, white and blue arch above an eagle. (added after 'book' was formed) On the other side is an eagle on top of a crest or coat of arms.? (in the book itself) Also some enameled colors blue, red and green. It says in the crest: FREEDOM CHARITY FRIENDSHIP It has a hinge on one end and opens with 2 little round knobs on the other end.On the inside edge of both sides is ; X X l (looks like it was crudely engraved?)Inside is somewhat discolored.It does kind of look like a little book---decorative edge on both sides and edges thatlook like lines of pages.I almost think the 'book' is gold, but I can't find any marks.The 'book' is not showing signs of "wear-off". The eagle on top of the crest also doesn't show signs of "wear-off". (except enamel in the letters)The eagle under the arch however, DOES show signs of "wear-off".And it needs cleaning!I just don't know! Maybe someone out t knows just exactly what this is!
