Up for auction is a very old Folk Art style lapboard.This lapboard is at least 60 years old to my knowledge but may be even older because the elderly lady that owned it can not remember how old it was when she got it 60 years ago she is 89 years old and wanted me to sell it for her but she remembers having it when her children were babies and when she was first married it may be fromearly 1900`s but i can say it is old for sure just not the exact age.It is in great shape t are some small scratches as you can see in the pictures but if you wanted to you could use some good scratch cover on them and they would go away because they are not deep.THe art work on this is so colorful and detailed and it has great old timey sayings on it.On the other side it has a checkerboard game on it.This side also has cute sayings on it.I took several pictures so you can read the sayings and see the artwork on this.It also has two small holes on the top for hanging if you want to use it as a wall display it would look great.I have looked to see if I can find another one like it and I have had no luck so this may be a rare item i am not sure how many of these were made.If you like Folk Art you will love this one it is just so pretty.It measures 29 inches long from side to side it measures 18 inches tall from top to bottom.It is made out of an oak type wood I think it is less than an inch thick so it is not so heavy.I quess it was made to use on your lap to do chores but it is a great decoration.T are no cracks or breaks in the wood as I said it is in great shape.i am not sure of the value of this item but i do not think t are a lot of these in circulation.I do combined shipping and I will be listing a lot more old items.I am not sure exactly how much it will cost to ship so i will wait and see what location it will go to if it sells i would not think it would be much over 10 dollars to ship because it is not that heavy just depends on size of box needed.
