It is neat, and has a GREAT look to it. The wood appears to be solid dark oak. It has slots for 4 pipes. The are five funky birds atop the wood piece. They are carved vegetable ivory. Each has one glass eye and a beak made from deer antlers. Birds have cute carved vegetable ivory feet as well. Vegetable ivory, in case you do not know, comes from the ivory nut palm.
