This hammered copper Arts and Crafts Scarab brooch is a fine example of Grand Rapids metalwork circa 1910. At 3 ½ by 2 ½ inches, the pin is large, and is signed by the Forest Craft Guild. The bezel set Baltic amber cabochon is almost flawless, and looks brilliant set against the copper patina. The Forest Craft Guild was started by Forest Emerson Mann in 1905 & went out of business sometime around 1918. Forest Mann was a student of Arthur Wesley Dow's at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY around 1902. The Guild is believed to be the makers of many of the lamp shades produced during the period by the Stickley Brothers & Limbert's. This Brooch was listed by us on eBay three weeks ago, but the auctions high bidder was not able to pay for it, so it is being relisted. Shipping within the USA will be by the USPS flat rate shipping.
