Foreign countries please contact me for a shipping quote before you bid on the item Up date 12,2,07 I have personally forge welded a couple of pieces of half inch square stock together using my smallest single burner forge and attached the pics. Of course if the single burner will forge weld the double burner will do a great job as well. In this past week I dropped off two of my forges at ornamental iron companies I use to work for so the blacksmith guys could check them out and they are happy with the forge. I made a deal to give them a free forge if they will simply write an honest review of my product and when they get the review to me I will be posting it in my adds. Thank you so much to the people who have supported me and purchased my forges! Blade Smith 2 This is a double burner forge designed for a smith that will be forming items such as knife blades, jewelry or of course anything that will fit inside the 4"x 4.5" chamber opening with a depth of 13.5". Both ends of the forge have the same size opening allowing stock to pass through. The chamber is fully insulated with 2600 degree ceramic fiber blanket and the hearth is refractory brick high in alumina and very low in silica (the kind of material that is best suited for resisting flux damage from forge welding) over rated for this forge at 3200 degrees. The forge itself will reach approximately 2500 degrees. The design of the chamber allows replacement of the refractory materials to be quick and easy but these materials will last many years, perhaps decades if not abused. When the time comes for relining the forge a variety of refractory materials can easily be found on the internet or of course my company can send you a relining kit. The steel of the forge will last forever as it is constructed of .25" materials. To ignite the forge simply use a bbq lighter as shown in the picture. The tools and lighter shown in the pictures are for reference only and do not come with the forge. The burners are slanted and produce a slight reducing flame so oxidation will not hinder forge welding. The fuel orifices are precision machined from brass and soldered in place. All parts of this forge are constructed in a very high quality manner so t are no replacement parts with the exception of the refractory materials. The forge will need to be connected to a regulator (not provided) and operates well from 2psi to 30psi. At the local home town hearth and grill (BBQ/propane) store in Portland an adjustable 0-30psi regulator can be purchased for as little as $20 and they will make you a hose for about $2 a foot. I recommend purchasing an adjustable regulator from 0-30psi. I used this model of forge for making a handful of knife blades out of ¾ high carbon square stock and found no more then 10psi was necessary. This forge is very economical and fuel efficient. A standard 4.5gal propane tank will last for weeks of daily use with this forge so have fun and contact me with any questions.
