hand made by pheer grinders and knives .one of a kind western hollow grind so it will work with a left or right hand. Kamasori style razor san Mai with Hitachi white steel corethis is a beautifully etched Damascus piece to reveal the subtle pattern.6/8 blade 5 3/4" overall length 2 1/2 " razor edge bevel is set heated to a orange -yellow and WATER quenched to finish at 64 RCH tempered back to 60 RCH)back round on pheer knives . I have over 10 years of forging carbon steel and heat treating in a forge . it takes hundreds of knives to get feel for the steel. learning the color of steel in the fire and how long to let it soak at heat to dissolve the carbon in the steel. I quench in EITHER water or chevron quench fluid (not oil ) to obtain the optimum hardness . then draw the blade back down slowly to prevent chippy or to soft a blade .
