This is a beautifull piece of fossil ivory that is nice and solid and has great color. Does have some rotting and cracking on the one edge as seen in the top picture. This piece as well as all the pieces we sell was found in or around the village of Gamble on St. Lawrence Island Alaska. We have a Native Alaskan buyer who finds some of the pieces himself and also buys from friends and family and ships directly to us. This directly helps every one in the village supplement thier income and subsitance life style. Measures 8 1/2 inches long, 1 3/8 inches wide at the widest and 3/4 inches thick at the thickest. Picture is of both sides and one edge of one piece. This piece was worked by an ancient Native Alaskan tool maker. All of our ivory and bone products are legal and come from the Private Native Lands of St. Lawrence Island. Native Alaskan Made. Meets all State and Federal Laws.
