This elaborate set comes from England, w egg cup sets were very popular in the early 1900's and have become highly prized collectibles. I usually only have one or two such sets a year to offer on eBay. It includes 4 Fostoria American egg cups or open mustards. The Fostoria cups are 2 1/2" high by 2 1/4" wide at the rim. They fit over the slightly raised retainers on the stand, nesting perfectly between the outer rim and the inner support posts that hold the spoons. All four cups are in absolutely mint condition with 3 mold marks and no manufacturer flaws.
The elegant silver serving stand is 7" high to the top of the decorative handle, 6 1/2" in diameter at the base tray, and rests on 4 ball feet. It is marked JH (maker's mark) & EPNS (electroplated nickel silver). It is in very good condition with no noticeable scratches, dents, or loss of plating. T is some light pitting around the support posts and the very outer edge of the flat base w it joins the rim, which isn't really noticable when the server is filled. Finally, this great set includes 4 dainty egg spoons (4 1/4" long) marked EPNS. They are in excellent condition. As can be seen in the photos, they hang suspended from the rings at the top of the 4 inner support posts. Both the spoons and the outer rim of the base have a graceful scrolled design. All in all, this is just a fantastic find that will impress your guests and grace your collection. I have described this unique 9 piece set honestly and accurately.
