I have just come into possession of a large collection of Fostoria American Pattern. This set comes from a gentleman whose wife died in 1990 and who had it stored since her death. She had collected it over many years. It is a set of 10's, with 10 dinner plates, 10 salad plates, cups & saucers, goblets and pitcher, 5 wines and many serving pieces. I am starting with the serving pieces and the plates as I cannot find all of them in my book. Some are quite unusual so I would appreciate any input. The whole set is in pristine condition, looks never used. with no scratches, nicks or fleabites. This auction is for a small 5 1/4" covered bowl, top an bottom. I have 2 books for Fostoria glass and the older one mentions a 5" covered bowl and a 5 1/4" covered wedding bowl. I am not sure which is which. The other more recent book does not mention this bowl at all. The bottom part of this bowl has a chip. as shown in the photograph. I tfore start at a lower opening bid. When the top is on of course the chip does not show. Good luck!
