This elegant 3 piece set came to me from a local estate. It includes the Fostoria American straight salt and pepper shakers with heavy nickle tops (Seligson's no. 195 produced from 1915 -1945) in very nice condition. Neither piece has any chips, cracks or wear to the points. One of the shakers does have 2 minor flaws, both caused in the making. T is an air bubble and a thin inclusion in the glass, neither of which is obvious, except on close inspection. The nickle tops both still retain most of their original silver chrome plating. However, t is some wear to it, more on one lid around the outer rim. Each lid has 15 holes; one has larger holes than the other.
Also included is a lovely Sheridan silverplated server stand. The stand is 8 3/4" long by 5" wide by 5" high at the handle. It is marked SHERIDAN EPS (electroplated silver). It has a heavy repousse handle and 2 wells that fit the shakers perfectly. The base plate features a ribbed border with a fan and scroll pattern at each end. The condition of the stand is good, with no dents, bends, or scratches. However, t is some plate loss to the high relief points of the border and the top rings of the wells, revealing a gold tone metal in these areas for a pleasant 2 tone affect. This can be seen in one of the photos below. I have described this 3 piece set honestly and accurately. However, if you have any questions, please ask before bidding, as all sales are final.
