Listed for auction is this absolutely breathtaking Gorgeous Console Bowl set complete with Two matching Candlestick Holders in the Brocade Grape pattern and in the rarer Orchid color. Manufactured by Fostoria Glass Company, 1927-1928 (in the Orchid color). This color is breathtaking. I am selling this set for my sister-in-law who has had it for years. If I could afford it, I would buy it. The console bowl measures 13" long by 11" wide by approx. 3" tall. I believe this is the #2371 (13" oval roll edge bowl w/grid frog) listed in my book at $250.00 (this oval bowl does not have the grid frog). The 2 Candle holders measure 3 1/8" tall by 3 1/2" wide at the base and list for $35.00 each or $70.00 for the pair in my book. One of the candle holders is in excellent condition and the other candle holder has a tiny tiny nick on the underside rim (see close up picture of bottom of candle holder, tiny nick is on the top rim in the picture) plus 2 other very very tiny tiny tiniest of tiny nicks (cannot even see them to photograph, have to feel them). The console Bowl has two tiny rough areas on the underside of the rim, plus since this is my first time in seeing this "etched" pattern, I don't know if the coloring in the center of the bowl is part of the normal etched pattern or a discoloration, please see the pictures. This pattern can be found in Gene Florence's book, Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era, 11th Edition and also in Juanita Williams book, Fostoria Glass. Overall I think as old as this set is and as rare is this color, that it is in overall very good condition and a set worthy of owning. I have set the reserve at a low price, discounting for the tiny tiny nicks. This would make a beautiful console set on your table or a gorgeous breathtaking gift for someone special for the Holidays. Thank you for looking. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I will be shipping via Priority Mail as faster and safer. You can calculate your shipping costs below. Shipping insurance will be required on this beautiful set. Check out my other auctions too . I accept Paypal, money order, personal check or E-Check. Payment is due within 10 days from date auction closes. Please notify me within 2 days from date auction closes of how and when you will be making payment.
