This auction is for EIGHT(8) FOSTORIA TROJAN AMBER UNDERPLATES. They are in absolutely MINT condition!!! They are free of any chips, dings, inclusions, flea/chigger bites, or any scratches from eating utensils. They look like they were just made, but we all know that just isn't possible Unlike Carnival and Depression glass these will never be reproduced as the skilled craftsmen are no longer available and even if they were the acid etching process used is not allow by the EPA due to the toxic and dangerous byproducts from the acid etching process. These plates were made between the late 1930s and early 1940s. These plates measure 6&1/4 " across and the rim is about 1/4" above the table. These plates are fairly difficult to find and when I found these the gentleman had 24 and I bought them all as they have many uses. They can go under the soup bowl or finger bowl or many other reasons. They are 1" smaller than the salad plates.. The starting price is very reasonable and my wife doesn't need that many for her collection that after 10 years searching we have finally completed. We have lots of extra pieces and are going to share these wonderful old plates to others who may have started a collection. T IS NO RESERVE. These are just flat dab perfect in every way. As we have collected for over 10 years we have seen the value of this pattern multiply several times. Sometimes the price guide can't even catch up. So it is also a good investment, as t won't be any more made. So get in while the getting is good. Sorry the pictures are so dark, as I can't figure out this new camera and I'm a lousy photographer anyway:) GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
