FOUNDRY PATTERN; 55" diam. x 7-1/2" thick @rim, plus bowl bottom of 2" and hub of 3" on back makes for total 12" thick, weight is 80 pounds. Hub on back can be removed to make flat for display use. CONDITION; reminiscent of age, knicked, chipped, dirty. Having been handled, used, rolled, stored by hardworking machinists for more than 1/2 a century, and then by me. Look at photos and ask qeustions if you have to. The patterns were in the basement storage of an old foundry when I picked 'em up. For industrial art use they will clean up nicely. This is a VERY LARGE foundry pattern. It came from Glader Machine Works in Chicago. The patterns I list all came from the same facility and most are patterns for parts to the Glader Nail Machines fabricated from 1906 to the 1980's in Chicago. Glader also manufactured patterns for other manufacturers, some of these patterns may be from other machines, which are which I do not know. The Glader Nail Machines have a somewhat interesting history, they were invented and manufactured in Chicago, for nearly a century, they were also a part of wartime history in that with some modification the machines produced shrapnel and barbed wire for the US Dept. of Defense. I got to know the last of the old machinists to build these machines, these patterns are a real part of American History and Pride. The skill to make these patterns by hand today is nearly unavailable. I had leased space in this old building, I purchased these patterns, when the last property owner sold and retired in 2001. LARGE and HEAVY local pick up is preferred, item will not ship UPS. All shipping other than pick up is the buyers responsiblity to arrange and pay for. Email for total weight, size, and pick up location. The shipping by motor freight, will have a fee to palletize and load for $30.00. Contact prior to payment to make all shipping arrangements. Can deliver within reasonable distance for a fee.
