For your consideration and for auction I offer a QUANTITY OF ORDNANCE SURVEY MAPS FROM THE POPULAR SERIES. The fourteen maps, originally folded, were surveyed from 1912-1923 and published between 1919 and 1926. They were drawn up in seven colours and have been laid on linen and varnished. The maps featured a superior method of road classification than the previous editions in order to appeal to motor cyclists and tourists. They cover in part or wholly, the counties of Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and show contours, roads, railway stations and many other places of historical and geographical interest. Each map is tagged by the Series number as published. A summary of each sheet........ Sheet number 40 extends from Tealby in the west, Mablethorpe to the east, Grimsby to the north and Louth to the south.Repeating the format, Sheet 47. Spalford, Horncastle, Welton and Wellingore with the map centred on Lincoln. Sheet 48. Woodhall Spa, Skegness, Tothill and Stickney. Sheet 56. Boston, Hunstanton, Wrangle, Holbeach.Sheet 57. Flitcham, Saxthorpe, Wells next the Sea, Rougham. Centred on Fakenham. Sheet 58. Oulton, Winterton, Cromer, Wroxham. Centred on North Walsham. Sheet 65. Thorney, Kings Lynn, Holbeach, March. Centred on Wisbech. Sheet 66. Stoke Ferry, Wymondham, Reepham, Attleborough. Centred on East Dereham.
