Standing approximately 22" tall at the highest point, this solid brass boot is a great front door fixture as you enter a home. It is perfect for holding umbrellas, walking sticks etc.. I has a lot of nice detailing, and the heel is lg and heavy, and adds a great solid weight to hold it in place. This belonged to my uncle, (the avid fox hunt collector, I have been selling many of his things over the last several years), and they kept this in the front hall at the door with his twisted Irish blackthorn walking stick and couple of umbrellas. ( I think that walking stick had once or twice been used more as a weapon than a walking stick ~(according to family stories ) it was a shillelagh really, and could be used as a cudgel to do some damage to someone if necessary, so I think it probably made him feel more secure when walking, or just having it at the door. Will ship within the continental US lower 49 states for 15 dollars insured. (P.S. Umbrella is just for picture, not included)
