LOT 216 Seller's Estimate: USD 10,000 - 15,000 Census records show that this new discovery is just the fourth 1934 $500 star enumerated for the St. Louis district. The other notes grade AU, low VF, and unknown. It is certainly safe to assume that this CU piece is the best of its very small group. It is a last minute consignment from Costa Rica, so the grade of 64 with 4-5 pinholes reflects an accurate grade of a note completely out of the woodwork. While we don't think the note will sell extremely cheap, it certainly has a lot of upside for the flipper or long term speculator, as $500 stars continue to remain scarce.
