Offered here is Friedrich Krebs all hand drawn Fraktur / Taufschein dated 1812. Framed, she measures 19" x 15 1/2" whereas the fraktur itself measures appx 15 3/4" x 12 1/2". It has not been examined out of the frame but it is evident that she's glued down. Insofar as condition is concerned, the reading is faded but my last picture shows a translation of the German. There is a center crease and also what appears to be a parallel tear. The left side of the fraktur has edge damage the runs into the image appx 1 1/2" (see my 7th, 8th and 9th pictures). For cosmetic purposes, at some point someone extended the drawing at the damaged section onto the background paper (and judging from the toning of that paper, the repair looks itself to be 19th C). In any event, throwing caution to the wind here and selling this piece without reserve, but buyer pays $22 for priority USPS domestic shipping with insurance.
Minimally, I should have used the word "attributed" in reference to Krebs. There is, apparently, a difference of opinion as to whether this is in fact by him and not being an expert I'll simply have to leave things at that. I also note that the description of this fraktur should include the statement that in addition to the red tulips and carnations in the lower corners, the upper corners contain a pair of cutout silhouette doves . Thus, this fraktur is relatively unique in its construction since it is evident that the doves are original to the piece but are applied rather than integral to the main sheet of paper.
