As shown in the illustrations is this matted and framed under glass, sepia toned digital photo of the Jersey Central Lines station at the foot of East 33rd . Street an d Avenue E . in Bayonne, NJ. The station sat well back from the street in a tree shaded, park like setting. Access was by way of a curved drive way that arced, gently , from the street at both ends to the edge of the station platform. The image was scanned from a negative, taken in the late 1950s and selected from among the favorites in my collection. The toning and additional digital aging gives the photo an antique-like appearance. The image was digitally printed on a heavy, high quality acid free, mat finish paper. The piece was placed under a brown, acid free matting which has a clean, crisp, white beveled edge. The work was fitted into the frame under its protective glazing and provided with an acid free barrier between the photo and the backing piece. The mat opening is 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches. The frame opening is 6-5/8 x 4-5/8 inches. The finished piece measures 8-3/8 x 6-5/16 inches and has an easel back for surface display and loops to facilitate hanging on a wall. The frame itself is not wood but an extruded, urathane plastic material similar to the new cornice moldings used in home construction. Like a real wood frame, the moldings are miter cut into four pieces read more
