Framus classical guitar, made in 1972 Auction sale; 1p start, no reserve, no buy it now.Interior label reads Framus Built In The Heart Of Bavaria Model 72B 01011 Serial No 40992 Tested by (signature) 72B Framus-Werke Bavaria Made In W Germany The very helpful people at the Framus website have dated this guitar to February 1972. Solid top, very light satin finish - in other words not coated in tone killing varnish!The first four pictures are taken alternately without and with flash to give an idea of the colour and finish.As far as I can tell the woods used are solid spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge.Noticeable arched back (like many other Framus models). Plain black edging. Good quality machine heads with metal rollers. Zero fret and fret markers on the side of the neck at 3/5/7/9/12. Classical style bridge with groove for ball ended strings. Fingerboard width at nut is a generous 48mm with a string spacing of 40mm. String spacing at the bridge is 56mm.Scale length of 627mm. Upper bout width of 295mm, lower bout width of 375mm, body depth of 90mm. Very good condition except for two small, repaired, dings to the top and one to the headstock. A few marks elsewhere do not detract from what is a remarkably well preserved 38 year old instrument. Virtually no fret wear. The neck is not straight read more
