Art Deco 1920's silvered bronze, signed with foundry mark. Beautiful bronze made by one of the best artisans of that era. Signed "Bouraine" on top rear of solid onyx base. The foundry bronze tag on base is stamped: LN Paris JL. The bolt stem and nut under base looks untouched since made. Provenance is excellent, since I purchased it from the owner, who brought it back from Europe himself in 1945. It has been in his house for 65 years. Has 2 fleabites or tiny chips on onyx base, and a ball is missing that was attached to tip of shoe, (see images). The ball was threaded in the shoe, the remaining stud can be removed by unscrewing. It may be possible for the previous owner to find the ball.Total weight of bronze with base is 13 pounds 4 ounces, very heave piece. The base is 3" wide by 10" long, by 2& 3/4" high. The bronze is 10" long by 7& 1/2" tall, and total height is 10& 1/4". The 2 balls are solid ivory, and the bronze is solid also. Selling no reserve.
