In 1991, the company of Fleetwood created a Commemorative Cover honoring Francis Marion , the "Swamp Fox." A master of guerilla warfare, Marion's prowess was one of the contributing factors leading to the defeat of the British. This Commemorative Cover is in the form of a Proofcard. It is postmarked on the anniversary of the decisive Battle of Eutaw Springs in 1781. Rem ember that on a Commemorative Cover it is nothing to do with the stamp and everything to do with the cancellation, which "freezes" a place and a date that an important event occurred.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a full-color portrait of Marion. Also included is a short history about Francis Marion. Historic, collectible, this is one of several pieces of Revolutionary War Postal Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectibles.

Matted in blue, this is matted to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
