This is a beautiful 68pc set of Franciscan Starburst dinner ware and serving pieces. The set was manufactured by Gladding,McBean & Company ca. in 1954. A little history: "Franciscan Starburst", Mid-Centurydinner ware - Eclipse shape designed by George James was introduced in 1954 with decal designed by Mary Brown. The 68pc set contains: 1-9 3/4" x 15" platter (excellent conditio n), 1-6 3/4" x 9" divided platter (excellent condition), 1-butter dish (excellent condition), 2-gravy boat w/attached under-plate (one with small chip in plate), 1-salt shaker (excellent condition), 1-sugar bowl w/cover (excellent condition), 4-coffee cups (some minor hairline age cracks in porc. - overall good condition), 1-divided serving bowl (excellent condition), 11-6" saucer plates (one with very small chip, otherwise excellent condition), 10-8" luncheon plates ( one with major chip on top edge, otherwise excellent condition), 11-11" dinner plates (three with major chip on top edge, otherwise excellent condition), 2-6" x 8 1/4" oval vegetable serving bowls (excellent condition), 8-5" fruit bowls (excellent condition), 4-7" soup bowls (excellent condition), 10-6" desert plates (excellent condition).
