FRANK M WHITING STERLING 8" WATER PITCHER ARTS AND CRAFTS HAND HAMMERED STYLE ON LOBED ORGANIC SHAPE WITH A SERPENT TALE HANDLE EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION, NO TARNISH BUILD UP OR STAINING EMBOSSED 8688 - 6 PINTS - STERLING WITH THE WHITING FLEUR DE LIS W MARK A very unique bulbous pitcher in the simplistic classical arts and crafts style. The pitcher is 8" tall and 8 1/2" across from the spout to the handle. The handle is fashioned after the tip of a serpents tail in graduating width. The organic shape is six symmetrical lobes terminating to a well proportioned spout. The craftsman hand hammer creates a exceptional subtle and distinct pattern which is evident and as beautiful inside the pitcher as the outside. A very discreet self rim around the opening to the spout and very discreet self forming base. I have hand polished the pitcher and t is no pitting, scouring, dings or extraneous scratching, just that from being well polished by hand. A very substantial pitcher holding 6 pints. Very reasonable reserve, enjoy bidding with confidence, check my feedback.
